Mapping Workshop

On December 16, 2025, Workshop No. 3 took place within the People Powered Tourism Project — Mapping of Locations (including historical, cultural, and ethnographic sites).

During Workshop No. 3 — the Mapping Workshop, participants practically explored the concept of the Visitor Economy and Regenerative Tourism through an introductory presentation supported by relevant local and international examples for the development of urban and community-based tourism.

Stage I

The workshop opened with a PPT presentation dedicated to the Visitor Economy and Regenerative Tourism, highlighting the role of local communities, traditional craftsmen, and entrepreneurs in creating authentic and sustainable tourism experiences.

Stage II

Participants were divided into three mixed groups composed of:
representatives of the HoReCa sector, representatives of local public authorities, members of professional associations, and traditional craftsmen.

Each group worked on mapping locations and resources already involved in or with potential for integration into the project.

Stage III

The results were presented in plenary, followed by:
✔️ joint analysis of the collected data;
✔️ identification of key opportunities;
✔️ establishment of Top 3 priorities
(creation of an integrated Visitor Economy map;
development of local, people-powered tourism experiences;
strengthening a functional public–private partnership model);
✔️outlining next steps and opportunities for mixed partnerships, including public–private partnerships (PPP).

🤝 The workshop once again demonstrated that tourism built with people and for people generates real solutions, effective collaboration, and clear development directions for Chișinău.
