❄️Winter holidays are beginning!
Chisinau is opening its doors wide for the brightest season of the year, inviting residents and guests of the city to a grand series of events dedicated to the winter holidays. Between December 5, 2025, and January 18, 2026, the capital will be filled with the magic of lights, carols, authentic traditions, and community joy.
The celebrations begin with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Great National Assembly Square, where the festive atmosphere will bring together young and old in a moment of excitement and spectacle. Here, visitors are also invited to the largest Christmas market in the city, with traditional dishes, children’s areas, carols, and surprises carefully prepared by the Chisinau City Hall.
Participants are invited to visit the platform rezultate.chisinau.md, read the municipality’s report, answer 10 questions, and win instant prizes, as well as participate in a raffle with special prizes.
Throughout the entire period, various sectors of the city will host:
Concerts and shows
Christmas Eve concert – December 24
New Year’s Eve 2026 show – December 31
Old Style concert – January 6
Carols, charity shows, concerts with local artists, and special programs for children.
Fairs and activities for the whole family
Themed fairs in Valea Trandafirilor Park, Decebal Square, and the square on Dacia Boulevard.
The “Sea Fest de Crăciun” fair between December 22 and 31.
Activities with Santa Claus, festive photos, traditional shows and customs.
“Târgul Brazilor” (Christmas Tree Fair) and interactive areas for children in the Ciocana district.
Special events in the city’s districts
“Să trăiți, să-nfloriți!” (Live and Thrive!) festival-competition in several locations.
“Children’s Christmas” – cross-border festival.
Cultural events for children from vulnerable families.
“Parade of Santa Clauses on Motorcycles” – December 28, 18th edition.
