The municipal enterprise “Zoological Garden” had its official inauguration on May 9, 1978, in the Botanica sector. At the beginning the Zoo counted only 60 species of animals.

Today the collection of the institution includes about 1000 birds and animals. 10 animal species are included in the international conservation programs. Tens of animals represent species included in the International Red Book and the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova.

There are also guided excursions, a young biologists’ club, a rural courtyard (where children can meet domestic animals and birds) and playgrounds for children.
