People Powered Tourism – Europe Day!
On the occasion of Europe Day, celebrated annually on May 9, the People Powered Tourism project was promoted during the event dedicated to European values, organized in the center of Chișinău. Participation in this event highlighted the importance of European projects in the development of modern, sustainable and community-oriented urban tourism.
Through the informational stand, visitors had the opportunity to discover the concept of People Powered Tourism — a new vision of tourism in which people, local communities and authentic experiences become the central elements of destination development. The project promotes the active involvement of local communities in the valorization of cultural and urban heritage, contributing to the creation of authentic and memorable tourism experiences.
Implemented within the Interreg Danube Region Programme, People Powered Tourism brings together partners from several European countries and supports international cooperation in the development of sustainable, innovative and inclusive tourism. Through this initiative, the municipality of Chișinău strengthens its position as a European tourist destination connected to international trends and focused on promoting local identity and cultural heritage.
In the festive atmosphere of Europe Day, the project brought closer to the public the idea of tourism built around people and communities, contributing to the sustainable development of cities, the promotion of local culture and the strengthening of connections between people, cities and cultures.
Participation in the event represented an important opportunity to highlight the role of European projects in the development of urban tourism and in strengthening international cooperation, promoting Chișinău as a modern, authentic and European-oriented destination.
