The Municipality of Chișinău Hosted the Meeting of the SUSTAIN-2 Project Partners
On 9 July 2026, the Municipality of Chișinău hosted the second official meeting of the partners of the European project SUSTAIN-2 – A Sustainability Model for Tourism (F&B), funded under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme.
The event brought together representatives of public authorities, academic institutions, and business support organizations from Greece, the Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, Türkiye, and Ukraine, providing a platform for dialogue and cooperation aimed at fostering more sustainable and competitive tourism in the Black Sea region.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the results achieved during the first implementation period of the project, presented the activities carried out by each partner, and defined priorities for the next phase of implementation. They also exchanged best practices and discussed innovative solutions for promoting sustainable development in the tourism and food & beverage sectors.
Officially launched on 15 December 2025, the SUSTAIN-2 project is being implemented over a period of 24 months and promotes sustainable destination development models in line with the European objectives for the green transition and sustainable economic development.
Hosting this international meeting reaffirmed the Municipality of Chișinău’s role as an active partner in European projects and highlighted the city’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation, exchanging expertise, and implementing initiatives that support the development of modern, responsible, and future-oriented tourism.
Through its participation in international projects such as SUSTAIN-2, Chișinău has strengthened its position as a destination committed to sustainable development, innovation, and international cooperation, contributing to a more competitive and resilient tourism sector across the Black Sea Basin region.
