Photography exhibition dedicated to the People Powered Tourism project
On Chișinău City Day, residents and visitors to the capital had the opportunity to discover another side of the Chișinău destination through a photography exhibition dedicated to the European People Powered Tourism project. The exhibition was held in Cathedral Square as part of a campaign promoting community-based tourism.
Through 20 photographs, the exhibition brought into focus local people, lesser-known places, traditional crafts, customs and community initiatives that give the destination its authentic character and turn an ordinary visit into a memorable experience.
The exhibition showcased the two pilot tourist routes developed within the project: the urban route “Old Chișinău” and the rural route “Goian Gorge”. These routes invite visitors to explore cultural and architectural heritage, local stories, gastronomy and the hospitality of local communities, discovering the destination beyond the usual tourist trails.
QR codes were an interactive feature of the exhibition, allowing visitors to access additional information and learn more about the routes, places and experiences featured in the photographs.
As part of the People Powered Tourism media campaign, the exhibition helps raise the visibility of local initiatives, encourages community involvement in tourism development and promotes authentic experiences that benefit both people and the places where they live.
Because tourism is about more than places to visit. It is about people who keep traditions alive, stories waiting to be discovered and experiences that bring us closer to the spirit of a destination.
People Powered Tourism – Discover places, meet people, experience authenticity!
