The independent folklore and comedy film studio “Buciumul” was founded in 1992 by director Tudor Tătaru.
The “Buciumul” has produced a number of films, such as “Leru-i ler, pânzele dalbe”, “Dănilă Prepeleac”, “Iarba dracului”, “Moș Ion în cosmos”, “Polobocul”, “Chișinău la fin de mileniu” and others.
In 2013, after the death of the late Tudor Tataru, “Buciumul” stopped its activity, leaving a significant gap in the cultural life of the country.
In 2022, the Moldovan Village Buciumul reopened its doors to all its admirers of authentic Moldovan folklore and to those who are eager to discover it.
This important event signifies both respect for the work of the founder Tudor Tataru and the desire to keep the national treasure alive.

We have a great love for our traditions and customs, which were born centuries ago and have been passed on with great care from heart to heart, from generation to generation, until they have reached our days. We want to continue to value the beauty and uniqueness of our folklore.
