The Municipality of Chișinău marks Europe Day by promoting international projects implemented with the support of the European Commission, reaffirming the capital’s commitment to developing modern, sustainable, and community-oriented tourism. During the event dedicated to European values, the projects Susdest-Net, Sustain-2, and People Powered Tourism were presented — initiatives that actively contribute to transforming Chișinău into a competitive and innovative European tourist destination.
Through these projects, the Municipality of Chișinău develops new tools and policies for tourism promotion, enhances cultural heritage and local identity, and strengthens international cooperation with partners from several European countries. The projects support the exchange of best practices, the development of sustainable urban tourism, and the creation of authentic experiences for visitors.
The SusDest-Net project focuses on developing sustainable tourist destinations and strengthening cooperation between public authorities, the tourism sector, and local communities, aiming to create responsible and attractive tourism experiences.
Sustain-2 promotes innovative solutions and tools dedicated to the sustainable development of tourism, emphasizing regional cooperation, the valorization of cultural heritage, and the promotion of local identity within the European context.
At the same time, People Powered Tourism highlights the role of local communities in tourism development, encouraging the creation of authentic tourism products and experiences built around people, culture, and local traditions.
The participation of the Municipality of Chișinău in Europe Day events reaffirms the importance of European partnerships and international projects for the sustainable development of the city, the promotion of the capital’s image, and the consolidation of Chișinău’s position as a modern, attractive, and collaboration-oriented European tourist destination.
